A Message From Your Teachers

Latest School Updates

Updated 4/29/2020 at 3:13 PM

Continuing Learning Opportunities continue to be provided to all of our students every day in addition to IEPed counseling and related services.  Please continue to let your teachers and therapists know about any questions or concerns you have.  We will work through this together the best we can.

No School on Memorial Day, May 25th.  Last day of school is Friday, June 19th.

To help you and your student at home we will continue to find resources and activities to keep your child engaged.  Please check out our resources section below for information from various educational websites and organizations supporting parents at home with their children.

Technology Requirements

▧   In order to complete these long distance lessons, your child will need access to a tablet or a computer as well as the internet.

▧   If your child does not have access to a tablet or computer, Solterra Academy staff will work with your school district to provide a device for your child during this time.

▧   If your household does not currently have access to the internet, many companies such as Comcast are supplying free internet to families impacted by COVID-19 closures

Counseling & Related Services

▧   Clinicians and Related Service personnel will be contacting families to set up service times that work for families.

▧  Several services can be delivered via telephone, video conferencing via Zoom, and/or through the Microsoft 365 platform.

▧   While not online continuously, our clinicians and related service staff will monitor email and other communication with students and parents regularly throughout the school day.

Communication

We will provide periodic updates and messages throughout the duration of the closure.  Should you have questions, the following are ways you can contact school personnel:

▧   Call the school’s main line at 860-612-2300, press 9 for the Main Office

▧   E-mail your child’s teacher or clinician
